I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in October 2025 and started my first ever class in November. As a completely new yoga teacher I knew I had much to learn. The true journey had just begun!
🤔 There are many yoga misconceptions
The number one I hear is that “I’m not flexible enough for yoga”.
Yoga will help you with your flexibility, and mobility. You could argue that if you were already super flexible, then you wouldn’t need yoga. Except...
🧠 Yoga shifts mindsets
For example, when I was working in Corporate Offices, I thought I hated being put on the spot in a meeting. I thought I performed best when I had rehearsed, planned and stuck to a routine.
In teaching, I realised that I love adapting on the spot. I love observing my students and throwing out the plan - going with the flow and giving students what they need on the day. That surprised me the most!
☀️ Yoga is a Practice for Life 🌙
There is the Japanese concept of Kaizen, meaning continuous improvement that I learnt about whilst working at Toyota & Lexus.
During our Yoga Teacher Training our incredible teachers shared that every pose could be improved. I immediately thought of Kaizen!
What I love about this view is that whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner, there is always something to observe, work on and grow. As a teacher, I enjoy helping people on their journeys and meeting them exactly where they are.

I still have much to learn and I am enjoying the path - finding new and old things to observe around every corner.
